Sandwiched between the Western Ghats and the Arabian Sea, Coastal Karnataka forms the southern part of the Konkan coast. The stars of the show here are the adventure filled beaches of Gokarna, and the temples that bejewel the region in Murudeshwar and Dharmastala. An overwhelming sense of tradition and culture washes over any visitor, be it their dance drama: Yakshagana, or the overnight ritual of Bhoota Kola.
For the otherwise inclined, coastal cuisine awaits. Generously flavored with coconut, neither vegetarians nor non vegetarians find any dearth in variety of dishes.
