Tuli Tiger Resort

Tuli Tiger corridor Kanha is located 65 km away from Mandla district of Madhya Pradesh and achieves the right balance of countryside calm within the striking range of city's convinces. Even as the huge gates open into a beautiful driveway, you can feel the senses begin to relax.

Insulated from the urban chaos by lush green forests, the resort peacefully isolates you inside this chic space. The most prominent feature of the resort is the 80,000sq m. natural lake, adjacent to a rivulet that meets the river Banjar. The overall ambience of the place, which is created by its subtle landscaping, provides its greatest appeal.

Tents
It's a royal retreat of Super Luxurious Tents that gives the ultimate experience of camping in the forest. The Habitat - The Habitat will tickle your palates and delight visual senses. Specializing in Indian, Chinese and Continental cuisines, it is a dining and lounge bar cum library. Retractable shutters and warming fire give you the required warmth in winter.

Jungle Safari
Steeped in the natural beauty and housing rare species of flora, fauna and avi-fauna, Kanha is one of the largest national parks in India. Jungle safari is all about spotting a striped predator amidst the tall grass or the wetlands, seeing herds of wild elephants and deer in their natural habitat, or watching a peacock dance in its entire splendor on the elephant back or by jeep. The elephant safari inside the Kanha National Park will give you a real chance to spot and capture the glimpses of flora and fauna in the park in a better way.

Activities
In the evenings, there are lovely, warming bonfires and the baiga tribal dance. The naturalists available here answer all your queries on wildlife and environment conservation. Also a part of the resort is the projector room, which houses state of art audio-visual equipment.

General Information
There are facilities to change traveler's cheques in Kanha. Credit Cards are not accepted at the camp.
   
While traveling In India - unless you are eating at the best hotels and restaurants avoid raw vegetables, salads, peeled fruit, raw shellfish, local ice cream, or ice cubes. Drink only bottled or purified water.
   
Medical
Medical insurance is recommended and vaccinations are advised for Hepatitis, Typhoid and Tetanus. A course of anti-malaria (e.g. Proguanil or Paludrine plus Chloroquine) is also strongly recommended.  

Things to get
Medicines are readily available in India, but you may wish to bring a small emergency first aid kit with you for your travels, plus any medication you have been prescribed by your own doctor.
   
Clothes
Safari-style, casual and comfortable clothing are advised for your stay at Pench and for traveling in India. Warm clothes (including jackets, hats and gloves) are necessary for the cold evenings between November and early March. A thermal vest is useful for the months of December and January. Avoid bright colors for jungle trips.
Casual summer clothing with natural colours is best from March to June. Sun protection lotion, sun hat, insect repellent, and cosmetics. Comfortable shoes, hats and sunglasses

Camera & binoculars - bring all the film and batteries that you may need for your camera as these are not found locally but are available in cities. Binoculars are advised for wildlife viewing.
   
Liquor - Indian beer is good and readily available, but wine is scarce and only found in major cities. There are Indian made spirits galore, but it is advisable to bring your favourite tipple with you, especially if it is Scotch.
   
Park Timings
The park is open from Oct. 1 to June 30. Entry is restricted to petrol vehicles only. Vehicular excursions & elephant rides in the park are permitted only by daylight. The best time is in early mornings and late afternoons.

Useful miscellaneous items include a spare pair of glasses or contact lenses (if you wear them), an alarm clock, small torch with spare batteries, and a money belt.

Schedule of Events

• Wake up call at 5:00 with Tea/Coffee and Cookies
• Departure to Tiger Reserve escorted by a trained naturalist in Resort Vehicles to the Mukki Gate
• Breakfast between 8:00 & 9:00 a.m inside the Tiger Reserve
• Tiger tracking on elephant back (subject to availability) and by 4 x 4 Jeep
• Lunch at the Resort. A short rest after lunch, nature walk thereafter or just a quiet afternoon at the library
• Back to the park at 3:00 pm once again on animal tracking and bird watching.
• Slide shows or wildlife films organised in the evenings.
• Bonfire provides time to relax, swap stories and enjoy a tribal folk dance.
