Singinawa Jungle Lodge

Singinawa is a Sherpa word which means 'Protectors of the Sacred Forest' and is the philosophy which guides them.

Located on 55 acres of land, in the tiger heartland of the world, Singinawa Jungle Lodge offers a unique experience of the jungles of central India with all the comforts of a world class lodge. The lodge offers the chance to not only learn about the tiger and its habitat but to also experience ecologically responsible tourism and see conservation at work benefiting local communities and the Tiger Reserve.

The Singinawa team, the backbone of this exquisite and unique luxury jungle lodge, strongly believes in being one with the land and is thus helping in regeneration and afforestation of the area around the building with the help of local support.

Accommodation
There are 12 charming, secluded, stone and slate cottages with a large bedroom, private verandah, en-suite bathrooms with double vanities & rain showers, live fireplaces, air conditioning & mini bar. Two cottages offer barrier free access.

Safari
Safari visits to the Kanha National park take place twice a day in customized 4x4 vehicles. Morning visits can be upto six hours long and a packed breakfast is served by a dedicated naturalist in the Park. Safari visits can also include the opportunity to view tigers off elephant back subject to availability as the elephants are owned and operated by Park authorities. You can also take an elephant safari or even take a walk in the woods and by the river side.

Local culture and leisure activities
There is a two kilometer nature trail on the lodge grounds as well as several walks along the Tannaur river and in the buffer zone of the Park adjoining the property. In addition, there is a neighboring Forest Department Nursery with a large roosting colony of fruit bats which provides a fascinating insight into the world of these creatures.

Bicycle rides
There are some all terrain Firefox bicycles available at the Lodge for those who would like to explore the surrounding areas or visit the charming tribal village of Kohoka where it is possible to get a glimpse of the lifestyle of the local people.

Visiting various places
Visit to the local school, village markets 'haat' and weekly cattle fair can also be organized upon request. Visit the Singinawa Farm to see how they are trying to set an example for villagers to follow, by growing organic crops and plants with medicinal properties.

Cooking classes
For Cooking Classes join our chefs for learning how to cook everyday Indian food or even the nuances of creating the finest 'tandoori' dishes.

Swimming pool & Spa
Relax by the swimming pool where the bird songs and the rustle of wind in the grass are the only sounds you hear, follow up your swim with a session at the Spa where trained therapists treat you to reflexology or massages to relieve your travel fatigue.

Documentaries
Singinawa has a library of books and movies available for guests. Slide shows and illustrated talks on the Park, tigers and their conservation are presented by Nanda Rana or one of the naturalists and movie shows on Kanha and wildlife are also available to increase an understanding of the ecosystem and its conservation issues.

By Air
Jabalpur, Nagpur and Raipur are all connected to the major cities in India. Chartered flights can land at Birwa airport just 5 kms from the Lodge.

By Train
Railheads at Gondia (110 km), Jabalpur (203 km), Nagpur (290 km), Raipur (213 km) and Bilaspur (182 km) can be used to get to Kanha.

By Road
A good network of roads connects Kanha TR to other protected areas in the region like Pench TR, Bandhavgarh TR, Panna TR, Achanakmar & Phen Sanctuaries and also to important towns in the region.
