The thirty cottages spread over the property offer unhindered views of the river and peaks. Multi Cuisine Restaurant - A culinary wonderland
When the night is cold and the fire dims out, move indoors for a delicious meal at the warm, wood-paneled restaurant, situated at the very heart of the resort. Though hailed for its exquisite Indian and Mughlai cuisine, the restaurant also features cuisines from around the world. Attention to detail and the delicacy of taste makes for an experience both subtle and refined.

River Side Restaurant - Intimate outdoor dining
The winter sun on one's skin can melt the tension away from any body, and a meal at the riverside restaurant presents the perfect opportunity to unwind. The aroma of barbeques and fresh, ripe fruit drift through the clean mountain air, their flavours distinct and wholly individual. The regular nighttime bonfires seem to set the Beas alight, reflections of the embers dancing upon the water in mesmerising reds and oranges.

Library Lounge & Cafe - Curl up with a book
A beautiful structure of wood and glass, the centrally located library lounge, which doubles up as a 24-hour cafe, contains a rare collection of books and novels with a charming view of the mountainside. Indoor activities
The activities are vast, with allotted space for indoor games such as chess, carom, billiards, darts and table tennis. Additionally, the resort houses a gymnasium and luxury spa, where soothing massages and aromatherapy are open to guests.

Outdoor activities
Alfresco activities like mini golf, badminton, lawn tennis, stargazing and croquet are available, while cycles and fishing gear are also at one’s disposal. A short walk away from the badminton court is the children’s park, where families may spend some time amidst the colourful swingsets and see-saws.

Adventure Sports
With its model location for adventure sporting, Span offers a range of activities including trekking, horse riding, mountain climbing, river rafting and paragliding, as well as skiing and snowboarding on request.

Sightseeing
The Hidimba Temple, located at the foot of the Himalayas, is a popular tourist destination. According to the Mahabharata epic, the Pandavas spent much of their time in exile in and around Manali. Trekking enthusiasts can climb up to Bijli Mahadev, the temple of lightning, which glistens like a silver beacon in the sun and offers a panoramic view of the Kullu and Parvati valleys.

Day Trips
Opportunities for day-trips are plenty, as small towns like Vashisht and Manikaran, famed for their natural hot springs, are not far. The grassy slopes of the Rohtang Pass are but a short ride away, as is the house of the great Russian painter Nicholus Roerich. Solang Valley, with its sprawling pitches of lawn, is popular for its summer and winter sports, most specifically skiing.

With its four treatment rooms (including one couple room), the luxury spa boasts shower steams in every compartment, in addition a jacuzzi and sauna. Feel the tension drain away with body wraps of honey and sesame or a pampering bath in a sea of aromatic flowers. The healing experts are trained in a variety of massages, from Abhyangam to Swedish, Deep Tissue to Balinese. The serenity of this region makes it the perfect setting for yoga and meditation, conducive to unwinding and purifying the senses. For this reason, Span Resort and Spa has designed a seven days yoga package which includes accommodation, healthy vegetarian meals, daily yoga sessions, individual counselling, nature walks, visits to ancient temples and monasteries, as well as one Himalayan Ayurvedic massage at the resort's luxury spa.

Location
Span Resort and Spa is located on the right bank of the river Beas, towering at approximately 4,500 feet above sea level, less than 14 kilometres away from Manali city.

By Air
The closest international airport is New Delhi's Indira Gandhi International Airport. Domestic airlines Kingfisher and Air india fly daily from the capital to Bhuntar in Kullu, from where one can reach the resort within approximately forty minutes.

By Rail
The Kalka Shatabdi Express runs to and from New Delhi and Chandigarh twice daily, covering the distance in about three hours. From there you can catch a flight to Kullu (20 minutes) or travel by road (8 hours).

By Road
The distance from Delhi to Span Resort and Spa is 510 kilometres. The National Highway route takes one through the cities of Panipat, Karnal, Kurukshetra, Chandigarh and Kiratpur Sahib and then through the beautiful valleys of Bilaspur, Sundar Nagar and Mandi.

By Private Charter
Private Charters can be organised to take you straight to the resort by helicopter or jet.
