Description
Explore the untamed jungle and limestone mountain region of Tu Lan Cave System on a one-day Tu Lan Jungle & Cave Experience. With your English-speaking guide and local jungle man from the nearby minority village of Tan Hoa, you will trek up to 9km through dense jungle and have an opportunity to swim through some unbelievable river caves.
See the impressive Hung Ton Cave and To Mo Valley before trekking to Hang Chuot (Rat Cave), used as an illegal timber-logging trail under the mountain, with impressive formations. You?ll get wet, you?ll get dirty and you?ll enjoy an awesome BBQ beside a stunning waterfall in a secluded mountain valley!
Safety is absolutely paramount on this trip and you will be provided with a helmet, life jacket, headlight and trekking boots (sizes 38 ?46). It is highly recommended that you wear long pants and long sleeved shirt. In the cold weather bring spare clothes to change, as it can be quite chilly trekking all day in wet clothes!
The minimum age for this tour is 16 years.
It is a long tour and your return to Phong Nha can sometimes be delayed due to trekking speed of the group.
Program :
* 07:30 - Pick up from local Phong Nha hotel, briefing and equipment check.
* 08:30 - Depart for Tan Hoa Village and drive 70kms through the spectacular Da Deo Mountain Pass.
* 10:00 - Arrive in Tan Hoa Village and trek 2km across peanut and buffalo fields to the Rao Nan River.
* 10:30 - Cross the river and climb the old cow trail over the mountain to Hung Ton Valley (2km).
* 11:30 - Trek through thick scrub and cross the river one more time to arrive at Hung Ton Cave.
* 11:45 - Explore Hung Ton Cave and swim through cave (100m) to reach To Mo Valley (weather permitting).
* 12:30 - BBQ lunch and swimming at To Mo Valley (if raining enjoy BBQ inside Hung Ton Cave).
* 13:30 - Trek over the mountain to Hung Ton Valley and back to Rao Nan River (2km).
* 15:00 - Explore 200m of Hang Chuot (Rat Cave).
* 15:30 - Cross-river and trek back through peanut and buffalo fields to Tan Hoa (2.5km)
* 16:30 - Cold drinks at local homestay in Tan Hoa Village.
* 17:00 - Depart Tan Hoa Village.
* 18:30 - Arrive in Phong Nha and transfer to local hotel in Phong Nha.
