Overview
Situated on the fringes of a local village "Tala", the Tiger Den Resort offers you a location advantage, which no other resort does. You can walk some distance to view a day in the life of an Indian village, where the pace of life is still measured by the rhythm of the seasons. The humble dwellings, the mud clustered houses, the elders smoking hookahs sitting on a cot, are some of the common scenes which signify that the time stands still in certain areas of the world even today.

At the Tiger's Den your day begins just before dawn with wake up call along with a cup of tea/coffee at the designated time. An open Jeep (a 4X4 wheel drive vehicle with a naturalist) awaits you to take you even closer to the nature and to see the majestic Royal Bengal Tiger.

Activities
Safaris in Bandhavgarh
Like all good things, the national parks also have a best season and time to visit. The first possibility is your own transport, preferably a 4-wheel drive. The second option is the numerous authorized 4-wheel drives run by the locals. This option being a very exciting one, as most visitors prefer an open a safari into the jungle and being accompanied by a professional naturalist who will guide them through the forest.

Elephant Safaris
All the national parks in the country differ in the activities and the facilities that they offer to their visitors. Like wise Bandhavgarh too has certain unique selling point. The elephant rides are distinct in some ways and provide an altogether unique experience.

Bandhavgarh National Park
The best time to visit the park, keeping all aspects in mind, is between December and February but it is the warmer months of April, May and June that are best for tiger and leopard sightings. During the summer months, most of the animals are seen around the few precious water bodies not yet vaporized by the intense heat.

It is the oldest fort in India, considered to be more than 2500 years. A one-hour trek upto the fort is worth the effort. Do's & Don'ts
General tips to help you in the Park:
Keep outside influences, as far as possible, outside the park. Transistors, tape recorders, blowing the car horn and loud conversations are taboo in a national park. You will observe more wildlife if you are quiet.

Wear colours that blend with the forest - khaki, brown and olive green are ideal colours to wear in a national park. Animals might get frightened when they see bright colours since they are not used to them.

Do not feed any wild animals. They have plenty of natural food in the forest and do not need any junk food. By feeding them you are changing their habits.

Do not litter the place with polythene bags, tetra packs and other such materials. They not only spoil the beauty of the park, but also may harm the animals. Take them back with you to be disposed off properly.

Keep reasonable distance from all the animals. Approaching too close will disturb them. Do not stand up when you are close to tigers - a large animal might see it as a threat and may be provoked to strike back.

Do not wear perfumes or any other strong smelling substances. The animals are sensitive to smell and it may arouse their curiosity.

Do not collect any plants or animals. They belong to the forest and not in your gardens.

Animals are generally shy and tend to hide when they see a human being. Please do not attempt to lure them out by throwing stones or other objects. Leave them in peace.

Take strict precautions to guard against accidental fires caused through carelessness. Smoking and flash photography is prohibited in the park.

All drivers and guides are given a set of instructions regarding the speed of the vehicle, the route to be followed, the distance to be kept from other vehicles and wild animals and time guidelines. Never encourage your driver to break these rules.

You should not deviate from the allotted routes or leave the road and drive cross- country, enter without proper tickets, enter before sunrise or stay after sunset.

Important: Do not forget to carry a mosquito repellent, sunscreen, antiseptic cream, hat, socks and shoes, binoculars, camera, extra film rolls, water bottle, warm clothing in winters.
