Archeological Museum: Situated in the Thrissur Zoo, the archeological museum captures the culture and heritage of the region over the years. From life size statues to tools from the Stone Age, and excavations from the Indus Valley Civilization and Harappa, this museum is a historical wonder.
Timings: 10am to 5pm, Monday holiday. 

Vadakkunathan Kshetram Temple: An ancient temple dedicated to Lord Shiva, this temple exhibits Kerala architecture and art through its murals, which depict the story of the Mahabharata. This is where the beloved Kerala Pooram festival is conducted in Thrissur.
Timings: 3am to 10.30am; 5pm to 8.30pm 

Thrissur Zoo: This State zoo is one of the oldest in India, established in 1885. Housing a variety of birds, reptiles and animals, the zoo is the easiest way to spend the day with family.
Timings: 10am to 6.30pm
Silent Valley National Park: This Park, located in the Nilgiri Hills, is also a part of the Nilgiri Biosphere Reserve. It has a high diversity of wildlife, and is one of the few undisturbed areas in the mountain ranges of the south. Enter for a surreal experience with the animals and the wilderness.
Entry timings: 8am to 1pm.
Exit timings: By 5pm. 

Kerala Kalamandalam: A deemed university for Art and Culture, there are a range of courses that can be taken up here. Visit for 'A Day with the Masters', a pilgrimage to the most sacred temple of arts, giving a world class experience to the visitors, with an unique menu of presentations that bring out the grandeur of the institution.
The cuisine of Kerala is distinguishable by its abundant use of coconut and spices. Tapioca and rice are part of the staple diet here, with a typical Kerala meal comprising a number of curries in various colors along with rice. Try the Sreebhavan Vegetarian Restaurant or Hot Pot Hotel for the typical Kerala Sadya (meal).
