Diversity and Harmony - Walking Tour
Daily: Start times vary through the year (approx 3.5 hours)
This walking tour visits a stretch of the riverbank on the Thonburi side where many original communities remain and passes by Thai temples,
Chinese shrines, churches and mosques. Yet, this is not a tour about religion, but rather one where we explore the diverse local cultures and the stories of how these groups arrived in the area.
The tour starts with a walk along Tha Din Daeng which is a foodies paradise. Here we will pick up local snacks to eat along the way. The tour then takes a combination of small backstreets and riverside paths as we pass by the Princess Mother's Memorial Park, shrines, mosques, and a Portuguese Catholic community famous for it's desserts. Finally we arriveat the famous Wat Kalayanamit before heading back across the river where the tour will finish near the flower market.
This walk is about 3.5km and suitable for anyone with moderate fitness.
