Apart from housing one of the finest examples of Gothic architecture, the Cathédrale Notre-Dame de Strasbourg, Strasbourg has a lot more in store for you if you want to dive deep into its rich history and heritage. With the entire historic city centre, the Grande Île, being declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site, a walking tour around the place must make it to the top of your itinerary! There's also a bunch of museums and churches worth visiting around every corner.
Not much of a history buff? Then walk along the narrow cobbled streets, canals and half-timbered houses of Petite-France (that make for great pictures, by the way) or feast on some delicious Alsatian cuisine. If you're here in December, the Christmas Market is unparalleled and an absolute must-do! They aren't kidding when they say that Strasbourg is easily one of Europe's most charming cities; you'll have to see it to believe it!
