Getting to Coron
Coron Island is mostly known because of the Japanese Ships which sunk during World War II. The bewitching aquatic views from the sunken ships is the reasons it listed in Forbes Traveler Magazine's top-10 best scuba diving sites in the world. The many reef dive sites and Gunther's Cave also promote scuba diving. Natural mangroves are abundant and they leave magnificent kayak paddling trails. Barracuda and Kayangan lakes are both beautiful lakes that encourage snorkeling. You can take a boat from San Jose or a van from the airport to get to Coron town. Tricycles are everywhere. Also people can rent motorcycles and vans to get around. Accommodation is available mainly in Coron City.

Why Visit ?
There are many compact white sand beaches surrounded by large limestone cliffs and wildlife.
Barracuda and Kayangan lakes are both charming locations.
Cathedral Cave: Also known as "Günter´s Cave", named after Günther Bernert, who was part of the first dive group to explore the cave. During a certain time of the day, the sun throws a beam of light through a hole in the cave ceiling, illuminating the inside.
Coron is most famous for wreck diving: The island has many alluring reef dive sites. The aquatic views are flaunted from the sunken Japanese ships. Seeing for oneself the marine life is the only way the beauty is truly understood.
Barracuda and Kayangan are well suited for snorkeling.
Sinugba sa Balay: One of the top rated restaurants in Coron because menu changes everyday and they only serve what is fresh for that day.
Winnie's Restaurant: Doesn't get the crowd it deserves because of its poor ambiance. But if you look past that, you are in for a treat.

Stores sell the basic necessities of a tourist like water bottles and soda, a few snacks (Ballpen pusit is recommended) and souvenirs. To get your money's worth, haggling skills are necessary.
Languages: Palawan's native dialect: Filipino and Cuyonon
Currency: Philippines peso
Trivia: Coron limestone was formed about 260 million years ago as a coral reef along the length of Southeast Asia.
Climate: Rainy season from July till October. In January and February the weather is dry but it becomes chilly in the night. By the end of November and beginning of December it snows.
