Salalah is a glowing city mostly known for its beaches. In it dwells a UNESCO World Heritage Site, Al Baleed Archaelogical Site. Enveloping this heritage site are plantations of coconut, papaya, sugar cane and banana. At the beaches, you could try snorkeling and diving or go for a excursion to the cave nearby. Mirbat is a one hour drive away from Salalah and is a good destination for a one day trip. A 90 minutes flight from Muscat will get you into Salalah.
