Getting to Musandam
Separated from the other regions in Oman by the eastern coastline of the UAE is the picturesque peninsula, Musandam. The peninsula, with its capital city Khasab, is more of a scenic retreat for travelers who are looking for some fine natural adventures along the lovely mountain side and coast. The capital of the peninsula is known for shopping and food delights in the region with a couple of restaurants and supermarkets. 
Apart from these activities, the peninsula is well known for its water sports and fun recreation centers. 
There are plenty of boats available from Muscat to Khasab which are very affordable and comfortable. Most travelers coming in from Dubai usually prefer driving down to Khasab by taking the northern route leading to Ras Al Khaimah.

Getting to Ras Al Khaimah

Khasab Castle: Built by the Portuguese in the 17th century, the castle is known for being restored after serving as a residence for the royal family as well as a prison. The castle now serves as one of the city's main museums.

Dhow Port: Located next to the Port Authority which service the ferries coming in and heading out to Muscat, the port is ideal for renting dhows for some wonderful sailing and cruises along the coast.

Supermarkets: Most of the supermarkets like the Lulu Hypermarket and many others are known to have canteens and mini-restaurants attached where you can indulge yourself in sumptuous eating. 

Lulu's Hypermarket: The main shopping center in Khasab where there is a store for almost anything. An ideal place to visit as you can indulge yourself in some amazing fast food and continental delights at some of the well known restaurants in the mall as well as shop for wide range of items that include Apparel, Souvenirs, Gifting Articles, Electronics and Handicrafts. 

There are many other supermarkets which may not be as large and spread over like the Lulu but are known to sell a good range items that include Groceries, Snacks, Beverages, Gifts and Fast Food.

Climate: The summers are known to get really hot and humid while the winters are known to be relatively cool and pleasant. The region is not known to receive a good amount of rainfall, with most of the rainfall concentrated in the period of December to March.
