Why Visit ?
Nature & wildlife: The pure Southland is known for its rare and unique wildlife. It houses some of the rarest wildlife species, the Yellow-Eyed Penguin, Hookers Sea Lion and Hector's Dolphins. The best way to explore all these regions would be to take a boat tour or a horse trek.

Nugget Point Lighthouse: One of the most distinctive land-forms along the Otago coast. From the lighthouse, you'll enjoy the amazing views of the coastline. You'll also get to see fur seals lolling about, playing in rock pool-sand generally having fun. Nugget Point also houses sea lions, sooty shear-waters, shags, spoonbills and a breeding colony of gannets.

Stewart Island: The lifestyle at this end is simpler and slower. A visit to this island means being surrounded by clear water, lush rainforests, native flora and fauna and sweeping sands. You can enjoy activities like walking, boating, fishing, diving and other activities they accentuate the unspoiled natural beauty.

For a lesson on NZ's heritage and culture, a trip to Invercargill is recommended. It houses Victorian and Edwardian buildings, galleries, museums, parks and gardens and more.
Tuatapere Hump Ridge Track: The Hump Ridge Track is one of NZ's wildest land. You'll go through the World Heritage Site, Fiordland National Park, and over the private Maori land. You'll get magnificent views of the Stewart Island and the Southern Ocean as you finally head down to the heart of native forest.

Southern Scenic Route: The route to Milford Sound is said to be invigorating to the body and soul as you pass the most majestic of landscapes. You will pass heritage architecture and a few region in Dunedin before heading to The Catlins region. You'll see beautiful beaches, seals, dolphins, penguins and an ancient, petrified forest.

Cycling, mountain biking, hiking, jet boating are a few other activities you could consider.
Redcliff Cafe: The restaurant is located in the old settler's cottage. The atmosphere is relaxed and convivial and that comes with really good service. The menu features excellent dishes. The recommended dishes are the wild venison and hare.

South Sea Hotel: One of NZ's classic pubs. The ambiance in the dining room is civilized and there is plenty of friendly banter in the public bar. The menu features pub food like stellar cod and chips, beer and a lot more.
