Dunedin, NZ's oldest city, proud of its Scottish heritage has a rare combination of cultural riches, unique architecture and famous wildlife reserves. It flaunts many Victorian and Edwardian buildings like the Dunedin Railway Station and the stone buildings of Otago University. For a heritage tour, you can visit Toitu Otago Settlers Museum, Olveston historic house and Larnach Castle. In Central Otago you also get a glimpse of the world famous Moeraki Boulders or the Clay Cliffs or Elephant Rocks. The Otago peninsula is renowned for the rare Royal Albatross, the Yellow-eyed Penguins and Little Blue Penguins. If you have a sweet tooth, you must visit the Cadbury's Chocolate Factory. For great beer, you can head to Speight's Brewery. They offer award-winning beer tours.

Why Visit ?
Dunedin Railway Station: One of NZ's most photographed buildings. It features mosaic-tile floors and glorious stained-glass windows. It is one of the heritage attractions in Dunedin known for its architecture. The station also houses the NZ Sports Hall of Fame, a small museum devoted to the nation's obsession, the Art Station, the local Art Society's gallery and shop.

Otago Museum: One of the leading attractions in the city that houses the largest collections in NZ. The pieces showcase Otago's cultural and physical past and present. The galleries display waka taua (war canoe), wonderfully worn old carvings, and some lovely pounamu weapons, tools and jewelry.

Wildlife: When you take a tour, you'll come across penguins, seals, kea and albatross in the wild. When you head to Otago Peninsula, you'll see the smallest species of the penguin, Little Blue Penguins.
St Clair Beach: One of the most popular beaches in Dunedin. The beach is a renowned surfing location. There is a heated salt water outdoor swimming pool.

Cycling and mountain biking: Dunedin is sometimes known as the mountain biker's paradise where off-road trails can be found in every direction. You will head to Signal Hill and Wakari Creek for world-class downhill mountain biking tracks. For a longer ride, you can head to Swampy Summit Circuit. 
Nova: Located right in the center of town, Nova has a seasonally changing menu and a fantastic selection of bakes goods. The restaurant is most famous for its hearty brunch where you can choose from warm banana bread, eggs benedict, brioche French toast, or the lambs fry, a mouth-watering ginger beer reduction served with grilled bacon on confit onion and rye bread. 

Two Chefs: When you enter, you are hit with dark wood interior of antique furniture, dark-stained paneling and leather seating. The menu features the French cuisine and you are spoiled with a wide selection of boutique beers and cocktails. You have French onion soup with croque-monsieur, rib eye steak with Café de Paris butter, braised cherry belly duck and pan-fried Origin rose veal rump.
There are numerous places where you can shop for different things in Dunedin. You can shop for clothes, jewelry, vintage, collectibles, gifts, home-ware and other necessities.

Some malls that you could head to are Meridian Mall, Wall St Mall and Golden Centre Mall.

There are a lot of galleries so you can either admire the art or buy some.
