After a hearty breakfast, set out for a city-tour of Kandy. Kandy is the last capital of the ancient kings of Sri Lanka and is currently the second largest city in the country. It is one of the UNESCO heritage sites, and is famous for its natural beauty with the picturesque lake, winding river and misty mountains around. Sightseeing ? You will visit the Dalada Maligawa, or the Temple of Tooth Relic, which is sacred to Buddhists all around the world. The next stop is the Peradeniya Botanical Gardens, consisting of over 300 varieties of orchids, spices, medicinal plants and Palm trees. After this, proceed on to Nuwara Eliya, stopping en-route at a tea plantation and estate, that surround the beautiful hill-station. After reaching Nuwara Eliya, commence sight-seeing in the city. Nuwara Eliya enjoys spring-like climate throughout the year leading it to become a favourite hill station of the British. As a result, the British tried to create the ?quaint English village? with old brick buildings, country houses, an 18-hole golf course, horse race courses etc, leading it to be also known as ?Little England?. Sightseeing of this city includes all these elements, along with trout streams and boating or fishing on Lake Gregory. You will also visit the Seetha Eliya, or the Seetha Amman Kovil, which is of mythological significance, appearing in the Ramayana. After sight-seeing, rest up for the night in the hotel in Nuwara Eliya.
