Kalutara Temple : One of the most scenic and devotional sites for Buddhism in the sub-continent. The temple is situated on the Colombo-Galle road and is frequented by both tourists and locals. 

Seenigama Temple: Dedicated to the Devol, who is a part of the Sinhala-Buddhist folklore, the temple is among the island's most visited. 

Galle Fort : One of the sub-continent's most revered sites. The Fort is of immense cultural value to the country and is also a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Despite being damaged by the 2004 Tsunami, the Fort stands tall to this day as a flagship symbol of Sri Lankan heritage and culture.
Take a walk along the ramparts of the Galle Fort. You will not only enjoy the wonderful sea breeze and the crisp sounds of the tides but also witness the historical essence of the Fort - an amazing experience.

Shopping in the Fort area is one of the most popular things to do, as a majority of the Fort is now a shopping and tourism complex with a variety of restaurants to choose from. The Fort is also the cultural hub of the island.

Whale watching is one of the most exciting activities here. Travelers come from across the world just for the opportunity of Whale watching. The coast is well monitored by the Navy forbidding any kind of Whale hunting activity.
Pedlar's Inn: Located at Pedlar street in the Fort, the restaurant is known to be a wonderful restaurant for refreshing eats like sandwiches with milkshakes and also wonderful lattes coupled with the restaurant's delightful menu of desserts which make this place an absolute must-visit.

Anura's Restaurant: Located in the Fort, the restaurant is known to be good for family dining and parties. Serves amazing  Western, Continental as well as local cuisine.

Indian Hut: A well known restaurant located right next to the Lighthouse which has a wonderful view of the coast and the Fort wall.  Known for it's excellent Indian, Western and local cuisine.
Lihiniya Gems: Located at Hospital Street, this jewelry outlet offers rare and precious gems which are authentic and approved for sale, and are exhibited by the Government.
