Start the day by driving to one of Wayanad's famous spice towns. Get on your bikes after the town and pedal the beautiful stretch of forest leading to a little town famous for its spice plantations. The biking will take you through smooth roads that wind and undulate through forests and countryside. If we are lucky we will spot a local curiosity, a friendly wild elephant, along the way. We will cross a prosperous town build on the pepper business and then enter more forest, this time on rough roads and off road sections. The primal jungle will eject us into vast paddy fields cultivated by the ancient dwellers of this land. We will pass by storied tribal settlements and stop for a picnic lunch at an old dilapidated forest bungalow. After lunch we will enjoy a bit of off-road cycling to reach more paddy fields and forests. There are many photo opportunities on the way and you will reach the Kabini pretty soon. The walk along Kabini gets you to the bamboo crossing in the river. You will cross over to the fabled Kuruva islands. The islands provide a magical mix of water and forest, and you can explore the area for hours. And when tired exploring you can dive into the deeper pools and ease your tiredness. By late evening you will board the vehicles and head back to the warmth of your resort for a well deserved rest and hot food.
