Description
One day trip to beautiful Eco village called "Sibetan Village" near Bali's sacred "Mount Agung". The village is known as great grandmother of the snakefruit (called "Salak" in Indonesian). It is called snakefruit because the peel looks like snake skin. Beautiful village surrounded by forest with full of stories and mythology. When the volcano erupted in 1963, the impact made a return to normal agriculture impossible. The villagers struggled but survived by becoming seed-savers of salak fruit and made new species. Now there are 14 different kinds of Salak fruits. Even unique Salak Wine is available from this village. Sibetan villagers welcome you and happy to share the spirit of the place.
