Description
Program:
Morning departure to Taman Ayun, also called the Garden temple of Bali. Founded in the 16th century by the kingdom of Mengwi it is a perfect example of temple architecture. It is surrounded by a lake, representing the sea and its inner centre consists of beautiful merus, symbolizing the mountains. Thus it is a perfect miniature representation of the cosmos.
Afterwards the tour continues through breathtaking countryside to the mountain village of Bedugul, more then 300feet above sea level. Here the Botanical Garden is visited. Highlights are the huge trees and ferns, orchids and other beautiful flowers.
The tour passes along Beratan and Buyan lake and after lunch it?s a good time to go for a little hike to a waterfall at Munduk village. Swimming in the crystal clear water is possible and very refreshing.
Next stop is at the biggest tree on the island, visible already miles ahead. Its roots create a natural cave where you can get quite lost upon entering.
Later in the afternoon there are stops with incredible vistas of rice terraces close to Pupuan and finally a coffee break at an interesting little spice plantation in Belimbing.
