Tasmanian Museum and Art Gallery: This museum is the second oldest museum in Tasmania located on Hobart's historic waterfront. It has displays of Tasmanian colonial art. The collection includes the country's oldest scientific society, the Royal Society of Tasmania. 
Other museums are numerous in number and some of them are Tasmanian Transport Museum, Tasmanian Cricket Museum, Maritime Museum if Tasmania and Museum of Old and New Art. 

Royal Tasmanian Botanical Gardens: These gardens houses collections of historic plants and a large number of significant trees. You can enjoy picnics on the lawns, visit the Sub-antarctic Plant House or enjoy a quick bite at the Botanical Restaurant. There is also a gift shop.

To get a peak at the wildlife, there are many zoos and national parks to visit.
Horse riding: A great way to explore the beauty of Hobart and its surroundings is to go horse riding. You get to see the most spectacular vies of the coast, rainforest, mountains or bush land. For kids there are pony rides. 
Another way to explore the region would be to go on cruises. 

Mount Wellington: One of the most impressive sites in Hobart which is located in the Wellington Park. After reaching the top you get to see the most magical views of Hobart. It covers a variety of landscapes, the waters of Derwent River and the green of the Derwent Valley and more.
Restaurants and cafes in Hobart celebrate Tasmania's fresh produce, wine and spirits.

Burger Haus: This restaurant mixes 80's rock and big beefy burgers on a little terrace to give you the best burgers in Hobart. The specialty is the Haus Burger which is a burger with bacon, onion  rings, caramelized pineapple and mustard mayo. 

Pilgrim Coffee: One of the hippest cafes in Hobart with exposed bricks. The menu features wraps, panini, amazing coffee and interesting mains. There tables are long and you share them with others.

For vegetarians there are numerous restaurants. Some of them are Chai Vegetarian Cuisine, HeartFood, MoMo Bubble Tea and Coffee House - Sandy Bay and Pulp Friction.
The trendiest place to shop in Hobart would be Salamanca Place. An old sandstone buildings is converted to galleries, cafe and boutiques.
