Gir Forest National Park is known for it's guided tours and travels which have been designed exclusively for large groups and families. Some of the popular guided tours listed at the park include:
Gir Bird Watching Tour: A tour program which takes you around the Park's well known bird nestling spots, showing the various species of residential as well as migratory birds in the Park.
Gir Lion Tour: A tour which takes you on a lovely ride to give you a close look at the legendary Asiatic Lions and their habitats within the Park region.
Gir Weekend Tour: For groups visiting the park especially for the weekends, the ideal tour for them is the weekend tour organised by the Park which gives them a close look at other various animals in the park.
There are very few restaurants which are maintained in pristine condition that serve good food at a decent cost. Some of the best ones among them are:
Sukhsagar Restaurant: This restaurant is known to be one of the more comfortable places to have a good meal. It also has a really good menu serving North Indian and Chinese cuisine at a fair price.
Machan Restaurant: Another highly visited restaurant at Gir. The place is known for it's exclusive Gujarati cuisine and other North Indian delicacies as well.While the place is not known for much shopping, there are few souvenir shops in and around the Park which sell wildlife collectibles, books about Gir, souvenirs and clothes.

Climate: The climate here is known to be Tropical Monsoon with summers known to get extremely hot with temperatures soaring. Monsoon brings in a fairly decent amount of rainfall during the period of June to September. Winters are known to have slightly cooler days and really cold nights.

Trivia: The Park is well known for it's Lion breeding program in and around the park which has bred close to 200 lions in captivity since the Park's inception.
