Elephant Valley Eco Farm Hotel

Elephant Valley, Eco Farm Hotel is a 100 acres nature reserve and organic farm welcoming eco-tourists and nature lovers all year round. It is located in the Palni hills, Tamil Nadu an area of the Western Ghats in South India which is one of the 25 most important Biodiversity hotspots of the planet. Kodaikanal, the well-known hill-station is just 20 kms away.

Elephant Valley offers 20 aestethic villas and the Valley restaurant serve healthy gourmet fusion food, prepared using organically farmed vegetables.Elephant Valley is the last settlement on the border of the National Forest which extends into wildlife sanctuaries of Kerala. It is uniquely situated on an elephant migration route that is centuries old.

This land and the rivers we share with local people blessed with prestigious vegetal and animal species including: native birds, leopards, deer, bison and elephants. Its remoteness allowed it to almost escape the ravages of 'modern' chemical agriculture.

Elelphant valley have built 20 estate cottages according to our commitment to reduce the impact on environment. Each of them is equipped with solar lights, low comsuption bulbs, firewood fuelled for hot water showers and waste water treatment plant. All the accommodation have no air conditioning for environmental reasons and because it's always very cool at night.

These cottages have been tastefully created with local granite and reclaimed doors, windows and wood. Colonial and art deco furniture from our collection are part of the interiors. Each cottage has the privacy of its own garden overlooking the perennial Gangavaar River and the coffee plantation. Each one is of a unique inspiration, furniture, size, facility, ranging from one for couples to one for families or friends. During the winter nights you can warm up and get cosy with our cast iron wood stoves.

Dining:
Valley Restaurant is located amidst the lush green plantation and traditonally crafted cottages. It serves organic, natural food grown in our vegetable garden, plantation and orchard, spiced with the unique Indian hospitality to make sure that you are in a village home in the edge of wilderness of India. The menu gives a fusion between Indian and Continental cooking.
The restaurant is mainly reserved for our guests. However with 24 hours notice they can arrange lunch/dinner for visitors.

Horse riding:

• The stable provides horse treks for all levels of competency.
• They also offer riding lessons for beginners in our arena and riding tracks.
• All material like saddle, helmet and gears are provided by us.

 

By Road: A tarmac road links elephant valley with the main highways leading to Coimbatore, Madurai or Chennai. There are two routes to elephant valley, one via Vathalagundu the other via Palani. From Vathalagundu go up to Perumalmalai and take the Palani Road.After 2 km take a left tun to Ganesh Puram. From Palani 2 km before Perumal Malai take a right to Ganesh Puram. Elephant Valley is located at the end of this road.

By train: Chennai and Bangalore are both well connected by rail to Kodai Road, Madurai or Coimbatore Stations.

By Air: Madurai is the nearest airport which is around 03 hours by car, Coimbatore is the next closest Airport.
