Hannover is the powerhouse and major economic center of Northern Germany. The city is located 290 kilometers west of Berlin and was formerly the royal seat of the Prussian Province of Hanover, from 1868 to 1946. It was a significant target for strategic bombing during World War II, serving as an important roadway and railroad junction. Hanover is particularly notable for the presence of excellent gardens such as the Royal Gardens of Herrenhausen, Georgengarten and the botanical garden of Berggarten which are famous for the most varied collection of orchids in Europe. The city has so much to offer in terms of experience, so it would be unwise to miss if given the chance to visit.
