The relatively young national park (established in 2004) is the first and only national park in the state of North Rhine-Westphalia. The Eifel National Park is jeweled with natural beauty, densely forested areas with a plethora of flora and fauna to picturesque trekking routes overseeing verdant grasslands, there is much to experience here! The region here covers an area spanning 110 square kilometers, only just bordering the Belgian border. It is home to over 7,000 plant and animal species, with a total of 1,300 species of beetles alone having been discovered here!
