Colonia Santa Maria has 100 guest suites, each providing a sitting room, a bedroom with ensuite bathroom, and a small balcony. The bedrooms are double or twin-bedded. Every suite is air-conditioned and contains a safety deposit box, a minibar and tea and coffee-making facilities. Room service is just a phone call away - and you can also make local and international calls directly from your suite. We provide broadband internet access in our conference hall and at reception. Restaurant:
The Balcao is the inhouse bar and restaurant, located on the terrace overlooking the hotel swimming pool. It provides you with a range of cuisines to choose from on it's regular menu. Baga Beach:
Baga Beach adjoins Calangute on the shores of North Goa and offers all the elements for a memorable holiday. People wanting a palm-fringed sandy spot for peaceful relaxation will find plenty of choice. There is also an abundance of places along the adjoining stretches of beach for those who like colourful distractions, like beach stalls offering beer and seafood, seashell trinkets, local crafts and buckets and spades.

Monsoon Season:
Visiting during the Monsoon. Goa's main season is from October to April but visitors who come during the Monsoon months of June to September discover a magical time. The rains are certainly heavy - but also spectacular, swiftly turning the countryside into a vibrant green which gives the landscape a very special beauty.

Swimming pool:
Colonia Santa Maria is located right on Baga Beach so that sand and sea are within easy reach. But they also have a crystal clear swimming pool that includes an area for children.

For many people, relaxing on the beach and in the immediate neighborhood of the hotel is all they require. But for those who like sightseeing, Baga and its surrounding areas offer plenty to do. Watching the local fishermen or visiting nearby farming villages gives a glimpse of the traditional Goan way of life – and you can join the locals in haggling for bargains on all kinds of goods in the markets.

There are ancient temples to see and splendid churches built during Portuguese rule, such as the Church of St. Alex. The Aguada and the Reis Magos forts are also popular sights. Or travel inland to the Dudhsagar waterfalls, go bird watching in one of the reserves, or take a boat trip on the Mandovi River and keep a lookout for crocodiles and – where the river meets the sea – playful bottlenose dolphins. Or go to one of the sanctuaries for elephants.

You could take the road through the cashew plantations to the medicinal springs at Mottant or visit the Baga Retreat House, dedicated to St Francis Xavier in the hills overlooking Baga. Mayem Lake is famous for its beauty and there are small boats to hire there – and shady parklands.

Art lovers can enjoy a look around The Kerkar Art Gallery, Calangute Beach, which exhibits the work of Goan artists and regularly hosts performances of Indian music and dance. And you can join in the celebrations at one of the many carnivals and festivals which Goans so enjoy.
