Celle was an important base during the Nazi regime as an important garrison town and a military hotspot. The Altstadt in Celle houses buildings from the 16th century A.D. and has long been at the center of activity in northern Germany, although it is relatively less known outside the country. The imposing French Gardens and the Filmtier Park, which serves as a zoo, are serene locations to relish the unique calming vibes of the age-old city.
