Echuca, or the 'meeting of the waters', is a beautiful river town in Victoria, where three rivers meet-the Goulburn, the Campaspe and the Murray. Home to a historic wharf, which is its main attraction, and Australia's largest fleet of paddle-steamers, this town's legacy attracts several tourists, especially from Melbourne.
The town is also renowned for its wide range of excellent eateries and for its variety of recreational activities including riverboat cruises, fishing and boating.
If you've got some extra time on your hands, just across the border, in NSW, lies Echuca's twin town of Moama. Home to an international standard 36-hole golf course and quite a few wineries, the town is worth a visit.
