Bruny Island is an amalgamation of magical scenery, bountiful produce, pristine beaches and rare wildlife. Two islands, the South Bruny and North Bruny, come together to form the Bruny Island Neck. The island is known to be a bird-watcher's paradise and that coupled with the rare and abundant wildlife makes it a photographer's paradise too. The island is also perfect for bushwalking and there are numerous regions that are best explored by foot. Surfing and fishing are famous here. For those who love food, there is so much choice. Cheese, wine and oysters are a must try and there are really good restaurants that parade the local produce.

Cape Bruny Lighthouse: Australia's second oldest lighthouse located in South Bruny is designed by colonial architecture John Lee Archer. The location of the lighthouse and the lighthouse itself became part of the South Bruny National Park
At the South Bruny National Park you'll also find Fluted Cape, Grass Point, Adventure Bay, Penguin Island, Labillardiere Peninsula and a few more sights.

Wildlife: More than half of Bruny Island is labelled a National Park and State Reserve and tours will take you around and you'll come across Bennetts Wallabies, Spotted Quolls, Golden Brush Tail possum, White Wallabies, Fairy Penguins and Forty Spotted Pardalote.

You can go on a cruise and see some of the highest cliffs, migrating whales, playful dolphins and lively fur seals. 
You can also climb into a seaplane and explore the island from the air.
Bushwalking: There are different walks you can go to and explore the different regions of Bruny Island. Some of them are: 
East Cloudy Head - This will take you to Cloudy Bay.
On Cape Queen Elizabeth you can explore caves, deserted beaches and then finally Adventure Bay and Tasman Peninsula.
Mavista Falls track takes you between rain forests where you can see elusive Tasmanian endemic birds.

Surfing: The most famous water sports for there are numerous beaches and points that can be surfed. Some of the best spots are Cloudy Bay, Mabel Bay and Coal Point. 

Bruny Island is considered as a birdwatchers paradise and birdwatching is one of the best things to do on Bruny Island. 
Made on Bruny Island is a one day tour, which if you sign up for, takes you on a gourmet trail and on this tour you can taste your way around the island. You can meet the local farmers and chefs and explore the specialty food and wine. 

Bruny Island Smokehouse & Whisky Bar: The have an extensive range of purely Tasmanian Single Malt Whisky and is considered as the tasting room for ever whisky distillery in the state. They have a great collection of Tasmanian wines, ciders and ales as well. When it comes to food, you have gourmet platters, smoked meats and seafood chowder. 

Get Shucked Oyster Farm: Over here you will have a pleasurable experience by eating oysters. It also promotes the nutritional and health benefits of oysters. 

Bruny Island Cheese Co: This cafe is also famous for here you get an extensive variety if cheeses.
Shopping in Bruny Island is limited to heading to the General Store for basic necessities like Eftpos facilities, takeaway food, limited provisions and petrol. There is an ATM as well.

Climate: North Bruny has a dry climate while South Bruny is surrounded by mountains and rain forests and so temperature at this end is wet and cool.
