Known to have been built during the 16th century as a summer capital, Almora is one of the most well known regional towns of Northern India with some of the most exquisite options in adventure sports and outdoor activities like Trekking, Rock Climbing etc. The town was also known to have been a major destination during the colonial period with some of the well structures from the period standing tall even to this day. The city's main centres like Lalal Bazaar are well known for being lined with little shops and stalls selling a great deal of items through the day with the evenings and nights being well known for those silent long walks and natural discovery.
