Fujairah is the youngest of the Emirates becoming independent from Sharjah only in 1952. Even though most of the main structures are still under renovation there are a few sights to visit like Fujairah Fort, Al Hayl Fort, Sheikh Zayed Mosque and Fujairah museum. You could either practice some sea activities at the sunny beaches or take a boat trip and visit some islands that lie in the Gulf of Oman. There are hidden beaches you could go to.
Dibba: The reason people effuse about the coastline between Dibba and Musandam is the hidden beaches that are accessible by hiring a fishing boat or setting out on a 6 hour hike. Al Myam and Haffa are two beaches that cut into the coastline around Zighy Bay. The Al Myam beach is white sanded and surrounded by Hajar mountains. In the palm-fringed Haffa beach dwells a small fishing village. The beaches are excellent for the water sport snorkeling. There are a few resorts surrounded by fine white sand.
Al Aqah: Another hidden beach which is a 20 minute drive from Dibba Beach is the Al Aqah beach. Here there are a few resorts that offer some enjoyable water sports like diving and fly fishing. You could also enjoy camping out at the beaches.
You can drive from Dubai to get to Fujairah. You can take taxis to get around the city. Budget accommodation are few in number and luxury accommodation is comparatively more in number.
