Al Ain is an Oasis town known as the Garden City due to its lush greenery. It is considered as a breath of fresh air when compared to the other large and populous cities around. It houses the second tallest mountain in UAE, Jebel Hafeet. It has has many amazing museums most famous one being the Al Ain Museum and Fort, built to safeguard the oasis from the raiders. The museum also recreates the way people of this region lived before the founding UAE. Even though it is called a Garden City, the desert is just a drive away. Lebanese and Arabic cuisine are the most famous and cheapest. Restaurants offer generous portions and excellent quality. Al Ain is a 80 minute drive from Abu Dhabi. Taxis are very cheap and are easy to find. Because they are considered unsafe for women, pink taxis with female drivers are available for women. Accommodation is cheap.
