Overview
Patan Mahal is a Heritage Home, 123 kms from Jaipur and 180 kms from Delhi, surrounded by its own farm on one side, an 800-year-old fort and a palace halfway up a hill on the other.
Nestled in a valley formed by 3 hills, Patan Mahal rises in the distance at the end of the city. This palace is well-located with an unhindered birds-eye view of the 13th century ancestral fort and another palace called Badal Mahal which stands loftily at an imposing 2000 ft above sea level.
Besides a charming heritage hotel stay, guests can enjoy a trek to the hill, a visit to the farming area and craft centres in the neighboring villages.
The Stay
The Stay at Patan Mahal is equipped with beautiful, well appointed rooms which reflect the royal heritage of Rajputana, and the Patan Family. All the rooms have clean and well designed bathrooms, with hot and cold running water and bathtubs.
Along the way Patan Mahal has retained the old, large and airy rooms. The period furniture showcases the skill and expertise of the Rajasthani artisans. Beautiful paintings on the wall and roofs have been carefully restored. The nooks and crannies have been retained and many rooms contain surprises - there is the room with a trapdoor, and there is more than one room with little doors and staircases that lead into the turrets, the kind of spaces that a writer or an artist looking to escape the world will love.

Activities
The Patan Mahal takes you back to a world that doesn't exist anywhere else any longer. As you settle into your luxurious room or wander the grounds, time seems to slow down and the days seem a lot longer.
Trekking: The 800-year-old fort on the hill is a strenuous trek, and the ruins of the Badal Mahal palace the perfect place to enjoy a quiet lunch. The fort is one of the few in India to never have been conquered by an invading army.
Swimming pool: You can spend your time by taking a refreshing dip in the swimming pool or laze around the pool area which offers a stunning view of the surrounding hills and the palace.
Boari: The step well, or baori, is a uniquely North Indian phenomenon and there's one close by.
Walking: Spend some time walking into a well - it's an experience you won't forget in a hurry. If you'd like a taste of a typical Rajasthani village, then step out of the gates of the palace to explore the quaint alleys and roads of the village.
Reading: The writers and the artists will love the nooks and crannies scattered all over the property where they can hide away for hours on end without fear of discovery.
Rajasthan's Heritage: A temple adds to the serenity of the existing ambiance where one can spend a few spiritual moments on their own. You can also observe Rajasthani men and women busy making bangles or beautiful pots in the village.
