Nestled amidst breathtaking gorges, valleys and lush greenery, Kali Adventure Camp, Dandeli, represents the ultimate paradise for nature lovers. At a distance of 481 km from Bangalore and 125 km from Goa, Dandeli is well connected by road and easily accessible from Delhi, Bombay, Pune and Hyderabad. Situated on the banks of the majestic Kali River, this wilderness camp is one that combines the vast ruggedness of the jungle with the reassuring comforts of home. Dandeli offers plenty of opportunities, and will leave you enthralled with the unfathomable mystery of nature. The number of places and the variety of activities that exist here are limitless.

Most of all, don't miss the adventure sports, especially white-water rafting, that the Kali Adventure Camp has to offer. The resident expert river guide, John Pollard, who has been with the Adventure Camp for over five years, supervises the rafting operations at Kali. All rafts are imported and the Camp adheres to strict safety standards. The river guides are highly experienced and conduct a session on river safety and commands for guests before taking them on a run. All guests would be provided with safety gear like life jackets, helmets and oars.
Kali also offers other adventure activities like canyoning, canoeing, kayaking, and mountain biking. Jungle Lodges is geared with all the necessary equipment for these activities. They even have exclusive jeeps and trailers to transport equipment and rafts from place to place.

Accommodation
The reception area of Kali camp is set inside the main bungalow. This bungalow houses ten spacious rooms with attached baths, the indoor dining area (which doubles as a conference hall for groups) and the manager?s office. There is an area exclusively for indoor games too. Facing the River Kali are eleven twin-bedded, Swiss tents, which offer luxury and a close-to-nature experience. Each tent has its own hammock to laze around and a small camp fire area. The camp also houses a 12 bedded family room and an ethnic mud-cottage.
Cuisine
At the far end of the tents is our Ghol Ghar - a round, open-to-sides gazebo - which is exclusively for guests to dine. Kali offers the best of local cuisine in both vegetarian and non-vegetarian. Primarily Indian in nature, we can make our cuisine suit your palate. The chefs are adept at serving both Chinese and contental food on request. Kali also has a well-stocked bar for its guests
Seasons
Dandeli is very pleasant and inviting from October to about beginning March.
White-water rafting season starts from November and goes on till June.
The monsoon season starts from June till September and the forests are at their greenest best then.
April , May and June are the driest months and the temperatures can touch 40°C.
Activities
There are number of activities taking place in Kali Adventure camp.
- River Kali dominates Dandeli, be it from its banks or from atop a mountain. Rafters, bird watchers and adventurers are in for a thrill! Watch your heart skip a beat as you hear a loud splash ahead of you. Only for a fraction of a second can you discern a crocodile and all that you finally get to see is only its tail.

Battle the swift currents in a rubber dinghy, and as you pull through the swirling waters with vigorous action of the oars, it will be a fascinating experience that will remain with you forever. Jungle Lodges and Resorts offers safe yet true adrenalin rush-filled white water rafting on River Kali.
- Jungle Lodges and Resorts can arrange for two nights and three days of Canoe tours on River Kali. With professional guides, you can go canoeing on the river and stop over at the banks in the evenings and nights where a camp will be pitched for you and dinner made over a camp fire.

- Visit the Kavala Caves, Syntheri Rock,Sykes Point and Siroli Peak. Camp at Molangi and the Nagajhari Valley.

Wildlife
Both Dandeli Wildlife Sanctuary and its adjacent Anshi National Park house huge tracts of moist-deciduous forests. Although a known habitat of the rare Black Panther, the large size of the forest makes spotting them very difficult. Yet, many guests have spotted it and other wild animals such as the spotted deer, sambar, barking deer, sloth bear, gaur (Indian bison), wild boars, fox, jackal, pangolin and elephants.
Guests have also had frequent sighting of the great pied hornbill, yellow footed pigeon, crested serpent eagle, adjutant stork, black crested baza and peafowls. The forests of Dandeli and Anshi are home to over 200 species of birds. From the Camp, one can sight Malabar hornbills nesting across the river. Ashy swallow shirkes, drongos, minivets, iora, brahminy kites, and many others birds can be spotted from the camp.
Getting There
By Train: From Bangalore or Bombay, alight at Londa or Dharwad/ Hubli Railway Station and then proceed by road. A one-and-a-half hour journey will bring you to Dandeli.
By Road: Dandeli is well connected to Bangalore, Bombay, Goa, Belgaum, Karwar and Dharwad/Hubli by road. Several luxury buses ply to Dandeli everyday. There are direct overnight buses from Bangalore to Dandeli. The luxury buses plying between Mumbai and Mangalore / Bangalore, invariably pass through Dharwad. You can get down at Dharwad and take a taxi / bus to Dandeli.
By Air: Goa is about two and a half hours from Dandeli and is well-connected by air. Air Deccan has recently started flights to Hubli, from where Dandeli is about a one and half hour drive away.
