The Beach At Mandvi Palace

The Beach at Mandvi Palace is a deluxe tented camp set on the coast with a couple of kilometers of private beach. The palace estate where the camp is located also houses the Vijay Vilas Palace, residence of the Maharao of Kutch and was originally made as a summer palace for the royal family.

Here, you have the opportunity to enjoy the beach, the palaces of Mandvi, the handicrafts and monuments of the rest of Kutch district, and birdwatching along the northern coast of the Gulf of Kutch including the flamingo-rich Mandvi creek while staying in the air-conditioned comfort of the royal-style tented deluxe camp with an old-world ambience and contemporary facilities.

The Beach at Mandavi Palace comprises ten hand crafted tents. Each tent has its own verandah, spacious air-conditioned bedroom and state of the art attached bathrooms with running hot and cold water. Each of the tents' interior is decorated to resemble the colonial-period camps of erstwhile royalty with carved furniture. The camp has 24 hour electricity with back up generators.

The beach camp has a restaurant made of thatch and bamboo with a majestic view of the Arabian Sea. It is a multi-cuisine restaurant, serving Indian, Continental and Chinese fare as well as the local flavours.

The sea-food and tandoori delicacies are a specialty. A romantic, candle-light bar-be-cue on the beach is a must have! The restaurant is also a great hit with the Army and Air-force officers stationed in Kutch and caters to all their important events like Battle Honour Day, Raising Day, etc.

From Mandvi
Head out of town, west, on NH8A. Past the Shitala Mata temple and pond, on the left get onto Halipad road. Further ahead at the Y-intersection, take the road on the left which is Vijay Vilas Palace road. Take the left before you reach the palace and the camp is at the end of road.
