Khimsar Sand Dunes Village

Khimsar Dunes village nestles amidst sand dunes that seem to roll into eternity. Fortunately, access is only by jeep, camel or horseback. Rustic in appearance, in consonance with the surroundings, these luxurious huts have been deliberately designed to be eco-friendly. Go savour the tranquility of the Thar desert in all its majesty! Accommodation - Huts
The thatched hut is spacious and as comfortable as you can possibly imagine. Local materials, mirror-work, handicrafts, rustic iron, and wood furniture have been employed to create the ambience. Independent courtyards, open-air showers and double-decker huts are also pleasing features.

There are dining facilities by the waterside and atop the dunes. During breakfast, observe ducks, geese, fish & wild birds in the tranquil silence of the golden sands. Sip tea while witnessing the beautiful desert sunset. Dinner is served around a bonfire - as shooting stars streaks the sky. The bar offers the best of international spirits and wines. Built in the 10th century. Larger than the Mehrangarh fort of Jodhport. Recipient of the UNESCO international award for restoration is 40 km away from Khimsar.

8th century Jain temples which are beautifully restored are 62 km by road.

A handicraft institute established and run by Mrs. Monica Matter from Switzerland for the upliftment of rural women. The products are sold exclusively in Khimsar fort.

Wildlife Tourst
Panchla black buck safari-16 km away by open jeep. Sight herds of Black Buck, Chinkara and blue bull antelope. Kheenchan is 120 km away. Sight thousands of Demoiselle Cranes which migrate from Southern Europe and North Asia between October and March.
