Kaikoura is a town located on the east coast of South Island. It has some of the most breath-taking views of the country; stunning coastline, a dramatic peninsula and some of the highest mountains by the oceanside. Kaikoura is rich in European and Maori history and that's evident when you pay a visit to the museums - Fyffe House and Kaikoura. The region is also rich in marinelife and you'll come across whales, dolphins, NZ fur seals, albatrosses and a wide variety of fish. There are plenty of outdoor activities including hiking, biking and kayaking. In Maori language, Kaikoura means 'meal of crayfish'.
