Why Visit ?
Cave Temple Complex: This world famous temple complex consists of five caves which hold close to 140 paintings, artifacts and sculptures of the Buddha. The temples are some of the most beautiful in the sub-continent with most of these ancient paintings and sculptures being close to 2000 years old. From the complex you can also get a scenic view of a nearby town called Sigiriya. The complex is the flag symbol of Dambulla and definitely the first place to visit when you enter town. The major stand-alone temples inside this cave complex are Royal Rock Temple which gets it's name from the sloping rock surfaces encasing the temple and the Golden Temple, revered for it's distinctive Japanese influenced sculptures and murals.

Dambulla Museum : Located close to the cave temple's main complex is a museum that houses a few of the various explanations and in-depth interpretations of the inscriptions and artifacts seen in the cave temple complex with some of these explanations dating back to the colonial rule. Also known to house some of the rarest artifacts in the region.
Dambulla Heritage Restaurant & Cafe : One of the better restaurants in Dambulla, where you can indulge in some fine cafe as well as Western, Continental and local delicacies.

BBH Restaurant : The most crowded restaurant in Dambulla which runs a packed house through the year serving snacks and wonderful local delicacies.
Produce Market: A popular market in Dambulla, known as the production stockpiling zone for most industries. A variety of wholesale products to choose from with the market being crowded through the year, bustling with activity.
