Overview
In June of 2006, a seed was sown with the belief that at the very core, we all have in us the simplicity of our forefathers who lived a native village way of life, living off the land they came from. This way of life was simple yet creative, basic yet rich in experience, responsible yet footloose, earthy and yet filled with exotic flavours.  For all of us humans, without exception, our soul is rooted in this simplicity.

The seed grew in to Our Native Village, a grand tree that bears the fruit of this 'nativeness' of life by tapping into a rich reservoir of value systems, history, tales, symbols, rituals, myths, icons, art, culture and respect for all creation.

This eco-resort and soul spa provides a respite from the isolation of modern lifestyles and complexities that most of us are stuck in. Our Native Village offers you an alternate way of living. They believe that bringing people together in "communities" allows positive energy to fill the individual and rejuvenate the soul.
Eco Resort
What makes Our Native Village a 100% eco resort?

Electricity - The resort generates most of it's electricity within the complex itself using a windmill and solar panels
Water - Most of the water that is used within the resort is rain water
Construction - All the bricks used for the construction of the resort were made on the site using the mud that was dug out for the foundation
Zero Waste - All the waste on the resort is processed and reused appropriately
Organic food - Most of the vegetables are grown organically on the grounds of the resort
Natural products - All soaps, shampoos and cleaners used in the resort are organic and handmade
Swimming pool - This eco resort has the regions first 100% natural chemical-free swimming pool
Water heating - Hot water for the bathrooms is generated using solar panels and Gujarat boilers
Herbal & medicinal plants - A wide variety of herbal and medicinal plants are also grown on the resort
The Stay
At Our Native Village you will have a memorable stay in any one of the deluxe, double / twin / family rooms.

There are a total of 24 naturally cooled eco rooms, quite spacious. All the rooms have different hand painted wall murals by rural and tribal artists from various parts of the country. The resort is reviving 6 types of indigenous art forms - Worli, Madhubani, Chittara (a Karnataka art form), Ghond, Paduwa and Phud. The rooms are luxurious yet maintain an earthy feel, with 100% cotton designer bed linen and matching silk blinds on the windows. The bathrooms are modern yet simple, with soaps and shampoos that are organic, handmade, natural and made exclusively for the resort.

Dining
Our Native Village aims to increase awareness that a balanced lifestyle need not be one that is lacking in variety, flavour and excitement, but with just a little care and creativity it is possible to live healthy holistic lives. The guests enjoy wholesome, delicious vegetarian and vegan friendly food.

Special features of the Food
1. They use whole grains, which are a great source of B vitamins, Vitamin E, magnesium, iron and fiber, as well as other valuable antioxidants. This means unpolished rice, whole wheat bread, red rice dosas and idlis.
2. Jaggery or unrefined sugar is our sweetener of choice. They even make own jams from seasonal fruits and jaggery to ensure you get to eat fully organic.
3. The food is cooked with very minimal oil, and in most cases with no oil at all. So instead of deep-fried fatty bajjis and pakodas, snack on our healthy and tasty corn bhel, and potato tikkis instead.
4. The food is vegan friendly. Peanut curd replaces cow's milk curd, coconut milk instead of cream and milk, tofu replaces paneer etc.
5. However keeping in mind the challenge the chai and coffee loving guests may have, they serve cow's milk with tea and coffee upon request. But do try the relaxing herbal teas.
