Situated between the Himalayas to the south and the Kunlun range to the north , Ladakh is one India's prime spots for tourism. Characterised by arid mountain regions with that ever blowing pleasantly cold mountain wind , this sparsely populated region of J&K is defined by vistas and serenity. Bearing a huge Tibetan influence along with a good Muslim population , this region is known to have maintained it's reputation of being a traveller's paradise for over 4 decades now. Pangong Lake: Well known scenic lake in Ladakh where people are known to spend entire days. Plenty of guest houses with good dining facilities are available here
Tso-Moriri Lake: A region that consists of two lakes : Tso-Kar and Tso-Moriri . Plenty of guest houses are available for accommodation but camping is not allowed here.

Trekking : One of Asia's trekking capitals, Ladakh is well known for it's trekking programs and tours . Some travellers come from overseas just to trek in these mountains but it's only advisable to this in the presence of the local guides ,plenty of whom are available for hire in town. Most of the guides here are known to be hospitable, reliable and trustworthy.
Local Festivals: The whole region comes alive with festivals during the summers. Most of these festivals are Tibetan influenced and is a good time to gel with the locals and also good for shopping.
Lamayuru Restaurant , Leh: One of the most popular joints in Leh and frequently visited by Travellers. The restaurant offers a delightful North Indian , Continental and Western cuisine at a fair price.
Gesmo Restaurant , Leh : Located very near to the Lamayuru , this restaurant serves amazing Western and North Indian food and is well known for it's varities of Pizza. The place is known to be wonderful to visit at night.
Shubh Punjabi ,Leh : Located in Leh's Main Market , the restaurant is known to serve amazing Punjabi and other North Indian delicacies at reasonable prices. The places is well known particularly for it's Lassi and Parathas.
BBQ Shop: Located a few blocks away from the Lamayuru , this is a wonderful Garden-view restaurant with a delightful menu. A bit on the expensive side but worth every penny with the breakfast menu, in particular ,gaining a lot of popularity

Climate: Tourism during summers is at it's peak as summers are known to be pleasant during the day and nights are known to get really cold. Winters are characterised by snowfall and sub-zero temperatures with the mercury hardly ticking above freezing point.
