Getting to Kanyakumari

The legendary town of Kanyakumari, neatly snuggled at the tip of India, is a well known pilgrimage destination. Ancient, magnificent and intricate temples jewel the region. Although Kanyakumari may get a little flooded with people during peak seasons, there are a number of interesting activities at other times.

The rare sight of a moon rise and sun set is only possible with a wide horizon like in Kanyakumari.

Thirparappu Falls: A local favorite, these falls allow bathing in separate regions for men and women. Towels, soap, shampoo and other items are sold outside the waterfall area. Although it may seem unusual, on reaching the falls, visitors see that bathing in the falls is just another daily activity.
