Famously known for housing Vipassana International Academy, is Igatpuri, a beautiful hill station. Vipassana is an ancient form of meditation which originated in the 6th century and was reintroduced to India in 1960s. The institution is the world's largest vipassana meditation institution and is a major contributing factor to Igatpuri's tourism. Being a hill station, there are numerous scenic wonders spread across the getaway which makes it a photographer's paradise. Though it doesn't house an airport, it is very well-connected by rail and road.
