The hotel embodies a group of pillared pavilions embracing three internal courtyards shaded by overhanging pitched roofs. The central structure of the Old Madurai Club was originally conceptualized by Sri Lanka's eminent architect, Geoffrey Bawa. It was designed in a way that allowed materials and resources from in and around Madurai to be utilized in its creation. Thus it was constructed with honey coloured granite from the Nagamalai Hills, stone slabs from an abandoned textile mill, 18th century columns salvaged from derelict homes and Chettinad doors. There's an old temple cart, which hides the source of a gurgling fountain. In total, Heritage is an architectural masterpiece.

Coffee shop: The Coffee Shop is a part of the original building designed by the eminent architect Geoffrey Bawa. The location features alfresco dining and not only serves breakfast, but also serves, a tempting array of sandwiches, cookies, snacks, pastries and chocolates that are freshly made in-house. The Coffee Shop is renowned for the finest aromatic coffees and teas available along with some delicious cold mixers.

'Swig & tee' bar: The 'Swig & Tee' Bar epitomizes the club culture that was existent in Madurai. One section of the bar is a part of the main clubhouse building from the 70's and the new extension includes a bar counter.
