Built in 1965 by the Tibetan community ,the temple was an imitation of a Tibetan Monastery. The temple's main stupa is 220 feet high. Spread over five floors, the temple consists statues of Buddha and ethereal wall paintings. The temple also has an open air platform which gives you a 360 degree view of the city. Another attraction at the temple is a 130 feet tall statue of Buddha, which was dedicated to the Dalai Lama.
The Sai Darbar Temple is one of the most beautiful and well known temples of Dehradun. Situated at Rajpur Road, 8 km from the Clock Tower, the Sai Darbar Temple is a peaceful temple, well away from the busy city. Dedicated to Shirdi Sai Baba, the temple is visited by many people from different faiths. The Temple is made out of marble and the idol of Sai Baba is placed at the centre of the temple.
Nested at the edge of the Tons Nadi River, the Tapkeshwar Temple is one of the city's most ancient temples. Located at a distance of 5.5 km from the city's center, this is a temple built inside a damp cave, dedicated to Shiva. This temple is also home to the annual Maha Shivratri Festival.
Robber's Cave is a river running through a cave-like formation. Located at 8 km from Dehradun, it is 600 m in length and is divided into two parts. The center of the cave houses a fort type structure, now broken and a depression which is 10m in height. Robber's cave is well known for a peculiar natural phenomenon wherein a stream of water appears and then vanishes underground, only to reappear a few meters away. A beautiful and calm spot, ideal for family hangouts and group stopovers, Robbers Cave stands as a really popular tourist attraction.
