Chrissie's is a small, friendly hotel set amidst gardens and natural teak forests in a quiet part of Thekkady village, Kerala, South India. Its well-appointed rooms, pretty garden and the relaxing ambiance of its rooftop vegetarian restaurant provide the perfect, peaceful location from which to explore the Periyar Tiger Sanctuary and the beautiful surrounding countryside.

The 777 square kilometre Periyar Tiger Reserve is home to 63 species of mammals, 323 species of birds, 45 species of reptiles and 1966 plant species, including 171 grasses and 143 orchids. It was declared a Tiger Reserve in 1978. There are many activities organized for tourists by the Forest Department in the Tiger Reserve including boating, trekking, bamboo rafting and camping.

Chrissie's has fifteen tastefully decorated rooms, three double and twelve twin-bedded, all with their own private balcony and en-suite bathroom. Piping hot water is available 24 hours a day.

Dining - The Restaurant
The relaxed, friendly ambience together with high quality food has made our open air roof top restaurant very popular. They serve fresh homemade pasta, pizzas, ravioli, lasagne, cakes, desserts, sandwiches and much more all lovingly made by Eco and the kitchen crew.

Yoga room
The large hall is light and airy, with beautiful far reaching forest and mountain views. With it's quiet setting, wooden floor and moderate climate, Chrissie's is the perfect venue for yoga, Ti-Chi, meditation, singing, dancing, etc.

Shiatsu and Reiki
They offer one hour shiatsu and/or reiki sessions and two day reiki attunement workshops. All reiki levels are available at the same cost of 6000 rupees for each two day workshop.

• Visiting spice garden, tea plantation or the tribal village.

• You can go for a ride in a bullock cart.
• You can also relax with an Ayurvedic massage or with a good book on your balcony, listening to the sounds of the forests.
