Banasura island retreat is a breathtaking experience. Spread over 15 acres in lush greenery in an island in Banasurasagar reservoir of Wayanad, this riparian zone is blessed with natural stream flowing across the boundary. Located in a virgin and immaculate landscape, Banasura island retreat is sure to be one of those places you experience in a Deja vu.
The Stay
Spending time in a Nalukettu is simply overwhelming. Being the traditional architectural form of Kerala, Nalukettu meets not only the scientific but also the metaphysical requirements essential for a peaceful stay. A home of Nalukettu celebrates air, nature and freedom inside.
Nalukettu at Banasura Island Retreat is built according to Vaastu and has a wooden roof with clay tiles. The house has a Nadumuttam (Central courtyard), Kolai (Verandah) and has Chathurmugham (4 faces). The Nalukettu has been built with architectural precisions and has Sopaanam, Monthaayam.
Double Cottage
The Wooden Cottage with two bedrooms is designed for your family or for your small want-to-be-together group. The cottage has wooden walls and ceiling with natural clay flooring for temperature control. Now take a step to the balcony to see what's there. You guys look overwhelmed. What did you see?
Single Cottage
The specially designed wooden single cottage with a sit out that opens to a stunning panoramic surround view is sure take you, to an experience with no words and grammar.

Who is wild here?
Thanks to the WWF funded project that has resulted in increasing the density of elephants in the region around. Banasura Island Retreat is located where an ancient system of being together with the wild companions is still a lifestyle.

The premise of Banasura Retreat is home for some of the most knowledged and skilled tribal communities who having mastered various ethnic therapeutic treatments. The aboriginals who still keep a super natural relationship with their habitat are seen in the interiors of nearby forests and an interaction with them is sure to be an experience.
Challenge the Fear
Spots like Banasura sagar dam, Meenmutty waterfall and Chembra peak would challenge the guts of a trekker. Tiring yet tempting landscape of interior Wayanad has been one of the most attractive adventure spots in South India.
Rates and reservations for off-site activities can be arranged through the front desk. Advance reservations are strongly recommended, especially for trekking and boating.

Bangalore - Mysore - Gundalpet - right to Sulthan Bathery - Kalpetta - from middle of kalpetta town near Chemmannur Jewellers, near New Palace hotel turn to right - 18kms to Padinjarathara - T-junction - to left 1km - right to Banasurasagar Dam 2kms-go past dam.
At 't' junction take left (Banasura Island board). Go straight 4 km. The last 3 km stretch is soiling road. Go up the left to the resort.

- No refund if cancellation is effected within 15 days prior to the check-in date
